Welcome to YuYu Tabi
Experience "YuYu Tabi" - a truly relaxing vacation - in the beautiful land of Japan.
A little bit about me...
Hi, I'm Denise Nomura, and I've been exploring and living in Japan for over 20 years. My first taste of Japan was in my 20s when I spent a year in Tokyo studying the language and culture (and teaching aerobics – yes, really! It was the 80s!). That experience ignited a lifelong passion, and after many trips back, I had the amazing opportunity to live in Tokyo for seven years with my husband and kids. I used that time to explore every nook and cranny of the country and really improve my Japanese.
And now, I love helping others plan incredible trips to Japan! Whether you're dreaming of cherry blossoms in Kyoto, hiking in the Japanese Alps, or hitting the slopes in Hokkaido, I can help you curate the perfect adventure in Japan.

Planning a trip today is easier than ever, but when it comes to Japan, the overwhelming amount of information out there can leave you tangled in logistics. Between deciphering the best places to visit, navigating the intricate transportation system, and figuring out the local nuances, it's easy to feel lost. That’s where YuYu Tabi steps in to guide you every step of the way!
I’m not your average travel planner. I don’t book flights or reserve hotel rooms. Instead, I provide an exceptionally tailored journey designed around your unique interests and travel style. Think of me as your personal Japan concierge, equipping you with expert knowledge, local secrets, and custom-made itineraries that travel agencies just can’t offer.
Here’s How It Works:
We’ll start with a consultation (via Zoom or in person) where we’ll explore your travel goals, your bucket-list items, and the specific dates that work best for you. This isn’t just about logistics; it’s about understanding the essence of your dream trip.
Next, I’ll design a detailed, immersive itinerary within a time frame of 2-3 weeks that includes:
Exclusive Local Recommendations: Skip the tourist traps. I’ll curate authentic, off-the-beaten-path spots and experiences you won’t find in guidebooks.
Tailored Accommodations*: Whether you’re looking for a traditional ryokan experience or a sleek, modern boutique hotel, I’ll handpick options that fit your vibe and budget.
Optimized Transportation Plans**: Forget spending hours figuring out train schedules and how to get around Japan. I’ll suggest an efficient, stress-free route across Japan.
Cultural Insights and Hidden Gems: You won’t just visit landmarks—you’ll dive deep into Japan’s culture. From private tea ceremonies to secret garden tours, I’ll connect you with unique experiences that make you feel like a local.
Once I’ve crafted your perfect itinerary, we’ll review it together to fine-tune every detail, ensuring you’re 100% satisfied before you go. Even after your itinerary is set, I’m here for you—answering questions and providing support until you’re on your way.
Ready to experience Japan in a way that’s tailored just for you? Let’s turn your dream trip into an unforgettable reality with YuYu Tabi.
*I am not a travel agent. I do not book hotels or make restaurant reservations. I will give you lots of suggestions and give you all the information that you need to make the best itinerary.
**If you would like me to book private cars for pick-ups or help with the purchase of shinkansen tickets, there is an additional charge. See pricing tab.
What makes YuYu Tabi truly unique?
Personalized Activity Recommendations: Whether you’re into anime, hiking Mount Fuji, or exploring ancient temples, your itinerary is designed to reflect you—not a one-size-fits-all package.
On-Demand Local Expertise: Unlike traditional agents, I’ll provide ongoing, personalized support throughout your trip. Have a question while you’re in Japan? Need last-minute recommendations or adjustments? I’ll be just a message away, offering real-time guidance and insider tips.
Exclusive Travel Resources: I’ll give you access to VIP experiences and secret spots you won’t find in any guidebook, ensuring that your trip is anything but ordinary.
